Alcohol comes to Pine Ridge reservation after White Clay battle

It is disappointing to hear that Pine Ridge Reservation voted to resume selling alcohol after so many had fought against it - and this is no doubt pleasant news for the people that profit from the war on drugs, like alcohol companies. I also just saw ads about four new bars opening at Mystic Lake here in Minnesota.

It is too bad, unfortunately the American Indians are only one example of how chemical dependency is fostered by corporate America through billions of dollars in advertising.... Another massive subsidy, the stadiums hosting booze ads, will be touched on shortly.

The Wasicu no longer needs to come and kill us with his Armies he now has the mni sica (bad water) to do his work for him. More people will now die from from alcohol related deaths and illnesses. Drunk drivers will kill innocent people on the highways and Sexual and physical abuse will increase, along with the crime rate. Also elderly abuse and child abuse along with suicides will increase. Read Black Elk's vision in the book Black Elk Speaks he fortells of this time and how the dark cloud covered the people. That time is now!!!!!! Now What To Do With All The Millions In Alcohol Money On Pine Ridge

By Scott Barta
Just like most of america, the majority of users of alcohol on the oglala Lakota "Sioux" Pine Ridge reservation suffered tragic childhood trauma and only use alcohol to numb their pain, their denial, their fear of exposure - whether raped, beaten, or verbally abused by parents/grandparents/brothers/uncles/neighbors.
What to do now?
Each of the nine districts will now get liquor stores no doubt, regulated by a tribal department. This will create jobs temporary employment for construction workers who must build the facilitie and provide jobs for all the new employees that must be hired by the tribe to run the stores.
What is needed most on Pine Ridge?
Currently, a plague is destroying american Indian reservations, and Pine Ridge is no different then the rest. Young men between the ages of 18 and 36 are being ignored and cast away by the tribes - often thrown away into the court and jail systems.
These 18-36 year old males are being denied their right to manhood - providing for themselves and their families, usually by possessive mothers/grandmothers who continue to enable and cripple these young men. In effect, they refuse to cut the embilical cord or ween the child from the teet - under the excuse of "compassion" and "generousity".
The worst thing for a man is thinking and feeling that he is inadequate, useless, unable to provide - it tears at the heart. He will not admit it and not ask for help, buyt he will ache inside until his next drink, his next drug. Often they lash out in macho attempts (gang, fighting, etc.) to try to cover thier inadequacies which compounds the problems.
18-36 year old males are allowed to stay at mom's or grandma's house - often not even required to wash a single dish or take out a bag of trash. The boys have girlfriends, all hickey-ed-up, shacking up with them, getting them pregnant; then pretty soon they break-up and then you have single moms raising unwanted kids.
18-36ers use moms/grandma's car, go drinking/drugging, then wreck the car, get thrown in jail - then mom/grandma BAIL THEM OUT for $400 (so much for groceries and bill-paying that week), all so they can come back and flop at the house until their next dramatic cry for help goes unanswered.
WELL IT IS TIME TO QUIT ENABLING THE CRIPPLING OF THE YOUNG LAKOTA MEN.
This alcohol profits, instead of going to all the tribal council members for new pick-ups, must go to training camps in each district for all 18-36 year olds who are not working full time and not living on their own. Sales profits can be used to hire builders to construct small cabins or erect tents/Tipis in a "Manhood Training Circle" where the boys stay, eat and live communally - available for any work delegated to them. "Manhood Training Circle" Staff must be hired to coordinate who comes in requesting assistance from the boys for building garages, bailing hay, basic plumbing/electrical jobs, hauling jobs, etc.
Experts can come in and give job/employment trainings, spiritual insight, wisdom and encouragement throughout the day to the campers - all guiding them to becoming providers for their nation.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO FIX THE NATION, it is not too late to save our young men.

Anyway will leave it there for now, but also add info on the lawfulness of the subsidized hub of booze advertising, the quasi-illegal Minneapolis Vikings stadium...

Democrats' hypocrisy in our sick & violent decade -- Harpers: Eye of the Drone

Latest: Drone blitz on Pakistan enters third straight day | World news | guardian.co.uk - up to 27 people dead in strikes that began on Saturday. The US has jeopardized its Afghanistan campaign by refusing to apologize for the November 2011 cross-border 'friendly fire' incident which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. (Also: Drone wars and state secrecy – how Barack Obama became a hardliner | World news | The Observer)

We are sleepwalking into the Drone Age, unaware of the consequences:

Then, three days later, the CIA announced that it had eliminated "four militants". In truth there were only two victims: Tariq had been driving his 12-year-old cousin to their aunt's house when the Hellfire missile killed them both. This came just 24 hours after the CIA boasted of eliminating six other "militants" – actually, four chromite workers driving home from work. In both cases a local informant apparently tagged the car with a GPS monitor and lied to earn his fee.

Sounds familiar...

Yemen sets sail for fail: U.S. drone targets in Yemen raise questions - The Washington Post -- killing people that have not even a trace of evidence of any plot against the United States. But perhaps in the aftermath their relatives will...

The appalling news of the Obama Kill List -- reminiscent of LBJ's riffling through aerial photographs to select bombing targets in Vietnam, the archetypal example of losing any control over strategy for the addiction to powerful, violent tactics -- has disturbed many but also illustrated the sick hypocrisy of the mainstream 'left' in our country. If Cheney and the gang were up to this, they would be up in arms, but now you don't get a peep. Shocked I tell you.

I sent all kinds of tweets last weekend to press and attendees at the 2012 DFL State Convention to see if I could get any responses about the drone kill list, and none of these jokers had the gumption to even answer me. No one's touching kill lists this year with a ten foot pole. However I did net a few mainstream liberal twitter followers, silent and cowardly on the important issues they may be.

See also a bunch of shilling, summarized: The Media on Obama’s ‘Kill List’ | The Dissenter

As usual, the tactic itself is of course destined to backfire and create generational-scale hatred of our country. This is one of those "doomed to repeat it" things the military-industrial complex is so goddamned good at -- it's almost like their business model depends on perpetual violence. Clever heads are recognizing this: It may seem painless, but drone war in Afghanistan is destroying the West's reputation - Telegraph (UK)

Supporters of drones – and they make up practically the entire respectable political establishment in Britain and the US – argue that they are indispensable in the fight against al-Qaeda. But plenty of very experienced voices have expressed profound qualms. The former army officer David Kilcullen, one of the architects of the 2007 Iraqi surge, has warned that drone attacks create more extremists than they eliminate. Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Britain’s former special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan, is equally adamant that drone attacks are horribly counter-productive because of the hatred they have started to generate: according to a recent poll, more than two thirds of Pakistanis regard the United States as an enemy. Britain used to be popular and respected in this part of the world for our wisdom and decency. Now, thanks to our refusal to challenge American military doctrine, we are hated, too.

Anyway I wanted to share the full text of Eye of the drone (Harper's Magazine) because it's one of those pieces which ought to reach through the shells of indifference to state violence we all build up - it cuts right to the sick nature of the decade we live in.

Thanks to Harper's for getting this piece out there -- for those that died and were deemed terrorists for their proximity to targets, "up to no good" because they gathered in their own communities to work on their problems.

From statements made in February by the families of victims and survivors of a March 17, 2011, drone attack in the village of Datta Khel in the Pakistani region of North Waziristan. The statements were collected by the British human rights group Reprieve and were included in their lawsuit challenging the legal right of the British government to aid the United States in its drone campaign. More than half of all deaths from U.S. drone attacks in Pakistan have occurred in North Waziristan. Translated from the Pashto.

I am approximately forty-six years old, though I do not know the exact date of my birth. I am a malice of my tribe, meaning that I am a man of responsibility among my people. One of my brother’s sons, Din Mohammed, whom I was very fond of, was killed by a drone missile on March 17, 2011. He was one of about forty people who died in this strike. Din Mohammed was twenty-five years old when he died. These men were gathered together for a jirga, a gathering of tribal elders to solve disputes. This particular jirga was to solve a disagreement over chromite, a mineral mined in Waziristan. My nephew was attending the jirga because he was involved in the transport and sale of this mineral. My brother, Din Mohammed’s father, arrived at the scene of the strike shortly following the attack. He saw death all around him, and then he found his own son. My brother had to bring his son back home in pieces. That was all that remained of Din Mohammed.

I saw my father about three hours before the drone strike killed him. News of the strike didn’t reach me until later, and I arrived at the location in the evening. When I got off the bus near the bazaar, I immediately saw flames in and around the station. The fires burned for two days straight. I went to where the jirga had been held. There were still people lying around injured. The tribal elders who had been killed could not be identified because there were body parts strewn about. The smell was awful. I just collected the pieces of flesh that I believed belonged to my father and placed them in a small coffin.

The sudden loss of so many elders and leaders in my community has had a tremendous impact. Everyone is now afraid to gather together to hold jirgas and solve our problems. Even if we want to come together to protest the illegal drone strikes, we fear that meeting to discuss how to peacefully protest will put us at risk of being killed by drones.

The first time I saw a drone in the sky was about eight years ago, when I was thirteen. I have counted six or seven drone strikes in my village since the beginning of 2012. There were sixty or seventy primary schools in and around my village, but only a few remain today. Few children attend school because they fear for their lives walking to and from their homes. I am mostly illiterate. I stopped going to school because we were all very afraid that we would be killed. I am twenty-one years old. My time has passed. I cannot learn how to read or write so that I can better my life. But I very much wish my children to grow up without these killer drones hovering above, so that they may get the education and life I was denied.

The men who died in this strike were our leaders; the ones we turned to for all forms of support. We always knew that drone strikes were wrong, that they encroached on Pakistan’s sovereign territory. We knew that innocent civilians had been killed. However, we did not realize how callous and cruel it could be. The community is now plagued with fear. The tribal elders are afraid to gather together in jirgas, as had been our custom for more than a century. The mothers and wives plead with the men not to congregate together. They do not want to lose any more of their husbands, sons, brothers, and nephews. People in the same family now sleep apart because they do not want their togetherness to be viewed suspiciously through the eye of the drone. They do not want to become the next target.

Review: "Contagion": Minneapolis faces instant social collapse in latest Hollywood portrayal of martial law!

contagion-diseased.png

SPOILER ALERTS! -- Plagued man (lower left) staggers off bus at Lake & Lyndale; Paltrow croaks at Fairview University Medical Center; MDH painted as buffoons; Matt Damon defends saddest Minnesota XMas ever w/ shotgun & sweaters!

contagionfear.png

Snagged advance tickets to Steven Soderbergh's A-List disease disaster flick "Contagion." Rumpled but sagacious institutions going through the motions make for a dour rhythm & pacing. Overall it resembles a video news release designed to make us feel comfortable with lining up for shots at the FEMA/Red Cross center -- that's the whole catharsis at the end basically. Thanks to Cryptogon for the tip on this film!

But weirdly, a whole vision of wintertime midwest social collapse goes down in my general neighborhood -- Minneapolis to the Martial Law-lockdown Wisconsin border!

The Minneapolis Armory downtown is transformed into a pandemic doomcenter!

contagion-mpls-arena-medical.png

It's kind of an initiation into USNORTHCOM CONPLAN 2591 for Dummies: Line up You Crazed Minnesotans! It's NCIS: Team Bacteria, basically plodding dialogue rarely gets any humor catharsis.

It's too bad this stolid film could have been so sardonic – come on, with Fargo you've got a real Minnesota film. Even though few shots except say the downtown Armory actually appeared to be shot here. Still, the blue light & Thanksgiving-Xmas interval of complete doom bore the mark of a dark winter experience. Still this film needed humor -- they just couldn't put much in at all.

Quickly in Minnesota, panic and total social collapse sets in at martial food distribution ops and the grocery store.

contagion-mpls-foodfail.png contagion-groceryfail.png

Army trucks all over downtown in the morning hours:

contagion-mpls-martial-law.png contagion-groceryfail2.png

Martial law is setup at the Minnesota/Wisconsin border -- closed by the Wisconsin National Guard. Not filmed in Stillwater but should have been. I actually made a sketch of similar Wi/Mn border bridge freakout one time -- this film has it all!

contagion-wisconsin2.png

contagion-wisconsin1.png

contagion-MDH.png

Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) deserves far more credit than the obligatory "baffled public official" exposition scene. They're actually very good at tracing outbreaks -- E Coli strains in industrial food for example -- but get zero credit really. Except for a You-Betcha-Bubble-Suit-Next-to-Mass-Graves type moment.

contagion-massgraves.png

contagion-technocrats.png

No one is really portrayed solving things cleverly except Fishburne's people. Will this look kind of like a Duck-And-Cover propaganda film in 50 years? "Cheating" or taking risks bending the rules is peculiarly rewarded -- i.e scientist with Biohazard Level 3 lab still finds the virus growth medium after they try ordering him to shut down.

Jude Law is a pigeonholed as conspiracy disease blogger and you never ultimately see if he's a shady fear profiteer. By the end he's painted as vaguely pitching profitable homeopathic cure for a possible hedge fund payoff. The hedge fund turns him in to Homeland Security. Doesn't make sense. He's left filming silently people lining up at a Red Cross/FEMA arena as they peacefully await shots like lambs.

contagion-judelaw.png

Even as masked pillagers go through "suburban Minneapolis" in no sense are neighbors considered to be banding together in Minnesota -- though in China a whole village tries to hold the health scientist Cotillard hostage for vaccines.

It felt like there'd been battles over the script. Something about the way that the plots were stubbed out...

Adjuvants get a mention as needed to really get the immune response kicked into action. Delicious thimerosol win! (of course high levels of gross damaging adjuvants are needed because frequently vaccines are weak failsauce)

Just-in-time commercial inventory spells direct social fail: Surprise! I felt like the kind of preparation which local organization like the U of M's top notch Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy which advises better supply chain strategies during dangerous pandemics. The pandemic supply chain fail basically leads straight to pandemonium in Minnesota.

There's no real sense of proper preparation -- a lack of creativity here. Actor Bryan Cranston as the military guy was pretty good.

Spoiler deets-

-- the crucial clue on Paltrow's camera -- Damon finally notices month later. Seriously they never found this earlier?

contagion-camerafail.png

contagion-camerafail2.png

-- if they point out that fatality level from malnutrition is variable to nutrition, they could have promoted vitamin D but didn't

-- You get vaccinated == Arm Band seemed like prescripting or an introduction, as well as catharsis in plot!contagion-vaccines.png

-- At least no one gets chipped (altho vaccine fans will point out you can hide unique signatures in vaccine fluid)

-- No real 'mitigating' approach - be it neighborhood security radio or taking more vitamins -- no one is really creative outside of the government

-- Dr. Sanjay Gupta - CNN, NBC/Comcast KARE 11 are the media snippets. Gupta mediates the Fishburne/Law throwdown between CDC & Conspiracybloggers.

-- Chinese cooks hug western executive while greasy with pig guts fresh from the Chinese interior.

-- People coughing in the theater are scary!

-- Big FEMA Red Cross polite line of vaccine recipients is the catharsis "landing" basically

contagion-arena.png

I didn't bother to stick around and look at the thank-yous to see who was involved in production. The way that it feels like you're mainly plodding, tumbling through the CDC's cogs reminded me of another similar film The Next Three Days wherein Russell Crowe triggers off similar National Security machinations. Hell the new Transformers movie has the military as a major character collectively. It just doesn't make the stories move along to cover all these institutions and their fictionally presented wonderful operations.

This site is promoted on the trailer -- it doesn't even mention Minneapolis after all this trouble!

takepart-contagion.png

Matt Damon gits a shotgun which weirdly wasn't looted from his neighbors -- while the food was.

FBI investigated American Trucking Association link to 2002 Wellstone plane crash

Wellstone plane crash was super sketchy. There was no icy condition that it was spun as. Fortunately MPR got the Wellstone FBI files, a lot of redacted materials.

Screen shot 2010-10-27 at 7.13.04 PM.png

Screen shot 2010-10-27 at 7.14.11 PM.png

There is an interesting logical flow - including "justice center" ... Service Transportation Act - expose board members of ATA - DOT truck safety issues, tied to organized crime. ATA Board Members, "Yellow" and "Chief Admin Law Judge" are all flagged - "trucking industry pushing drivers beyond their limits / non enforcement of trucking laws."

Screen shot 2010-10-27 at 7.14.40 PM.png

This actually makes a fair bit of sense. In the sunset of his excellent career, Wellstone was starting to turn towards the war on drugs and Colombia, going so far as to get himself sprayed with fumigant back somewhere in the coca mountains. I have read some materials discussing how the ATA is a very conservative and connected trade association, with allegations of links between many kinds of shady operations and the neo-confederate / hardcore dixie authoritarian types. Naturally the trucking industry could easily connect a lot of pieces, and it wouldn't be a surprise for Wellstone to start circulating issues like these. The ATA-drug connection has to factor in somewhere, why not?

The solution --- are there scheduled hearings? No? Ok let's leave it there..... The ATA went on to have no real political problems besides their failed shady fusion center which got involved in the RNC. [noted EPIC Spotlight on Surveillance]

On the other hand, if no former Wellstone staffers have yet stepped forward with material like this -- what he would have come back to DC with in that unspeakably bleak & dismal 2002 political landscape... there is a clip from a drugwar documentary where he says essentially, no matter what you do about the war on drugs, someone's making money. He truly believed it, no doubt.

8 Years Later, NORTHCOM has one hell of an integrated warondrugs scheme getting its #fail on in Mexico: Narco News: The Military Command Behind Mexico's Violent Drug War... and what year did NORTHCOM start? 2002. Wellstone gone? 2002. Spooky...

NORTHCOM will bomb Mexico before they admit the role of the FedWire in the Drug$. One politician woulda called em on it - We miss ya Paul!

Thinking of Wellstone reminds me of the creepy crash of GOP uber-webmaster Mike Connell, but now I can't find the freaky 'jackal' memo anywhere :-( ... Earlier: Mike Connell's mysterious plane crash via 'jackals'? rel: The BRAD BLOG : Exclusive: Mike Connell's Family Copes With His Mysterious Death, Tipsters, Legal Options:

"I think Mike got caught up in some other people's lives and didn't know how to get out or was trying to get out. You know, I'm real cynical about whether justice will be done. A lot of the government officials probably have gotten away with a lot of things. My position now is what's going to make this different? What's different with my brother's death that's any different than Paul Wellstone's?"

Sunset of Chicago's Handgun Ban: Shots on Lawrence Avenue, then SCOTUS nixes Chicago ban, plus a Detroit Chicago drive-by analysis

Back now from the US Social Forum in Detroit; stayed at friends' in Chicago and my sister's in Madison.

On the way out of Detroit Saturday, I took Michigan Avenue west into Dearborn before cutting down to I-94. On the way out of Chicago Sunday, I took Lawrence Avenue out to I-90. Michigan and Lawrence were loosely comparable, I suppose, similar medium-level urban development in a long stretch, major urban arteries but not central ones.

Michigan Ave. is partly dormant and depopulated, but as you approach Dearborn it is less vacant, with lots of fried food spots and liquor stores. And yes, some kind of stripclub unbelievably called Starvin' Marvin's. Both Lawrence and Michigan Aves. have more Arabic-marked stores as you move west, actually. But Chicago is packed with people, while Detroit is dark, sparse and quiet.

You could see a giant place like Chicago becoming Detroit, at least, easier to visualize if you've been there.

Another commonality: the gunshots. Not too many, but a few. As luck would have it, I cruised Lawrence on the last night of Chicago's handgun ban. There they were, the echoes of gunshots from handguns, their presence no more prevented in the literal sunset of the handgun ban than by a wizard's spell. Chicago had handguns to spare that night, bullets popping. Detroit had a few, but not like Chicago.

Evidently the right to have a handgun is "fundamental" according to the Supreme Court -- it fundamentally couldn't be changed despite 30 years of trying in the Windy City. Violence between armed actors in the city never really got curtailed, and the innocent bystanders never got saved.

Meanwhile the suddenly tyrannical Canadian government attacked peaceful demonstrators at the Toronto G20, one wave after another. And Canada has even more guns per capita than the United States -- this weekend, a suddenly higher degree of government tyranny than usual, yet far lower levels of gun violence overall.

It was a moment for Libertarians to be sure: the fail of the law, that last Chicago night only the outlaws had handguns. The biggest Leviathan and even the Daley Machine couldn't get a win on this one, but they got to play off the tensions it created. How many deals and schemes got made in the shadows, under the flag of the handgun ban? How many dollars changed hands? And to whom?

Why does everyone want so many guns in the first place?! Fear the neighbor, fear the government, count on a phallic totem to save you. Or else get yrself some fresh venison. Demilitarize America -- Milk not Guns!

Details: McDonald v. City of Chicago - ScotusWiki

Analysis by Lyle Denniston: SCOTUSblog » Analysis: Gun rights go national

Five members of the Supreme Court on Monday assured state, county and city officials not to worry: the new decision protecting a “right to keep and bear arms” against government action at any level — local, state or national — “does not imperil every law regulating firearms.” But the Court majority did not have any assurances for judges at every level, that they will be spared the duty of ruling on many forms of gun regulation that a legislature, county board, or city council has chosen to enact. And the Court gave those judges very little guidance, in its ruling in McDonald, et al., v. Chicago, on how they are to analyze those laws.

The Court did not even rule on the constitutionality of the one law that was at issue — a handgun ban in Chicago — nor did it tell the Seventh Circuit Court what constitutional standard to apply in judging that law when the case returns there. That particular law’s fate, like that of so many others around the nation, now must await a new round in court.

What the Court’s assurance aimed to do was to forecast that opponents of gun control will not win every time. But it had no authority to prevent many such battles from arising in the lower courts. It is fair to speculate that, after decades of frustration that the Second Amendment had not limited state and local power to pass gun laws, there is a pent-up demand to use it now that it is newly available as a high-powered legal weapon against such legislation. Judges, in short, are about to learn what legislators have long known: given the passionate support that exists for gun rights, virtually any attempt to curb them produces a pitched battle. The dueling of lobbyists will now be replicated by dueling attorneys.

Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., in the Court’s main opinion, did make one thing unmistakably clear to lower court judges: the right to have a gun for self-defense in the home is a “fundamental” constitutional right.   That one-word label carries enormous import. Ordinarily, if a right is deemed to be fundamental, any law that seeks to limit it will be judged by the stiffest constitutional test there is: it must satisfy “strict scrutiny,” meaning that it will be struck down if the government’s need for it is not “compelling” and if the approach it takes is not the narrowest possible way to get at the problem. Some laws can survive “strict scrutiny,” but not a great many do.

Duly noted. It was important to get this on the record, even if the mainstream Dems don't care. It's all very well cited and certainly worthy of any politician to stand on.

In any case, you could campaign against all of these articles, in talking-point form. They're quite well-worded, and I have to hand it to the clever wordsmiths that put this beast together.

Unfortunately, in our system of government the actual impeachment system is a mess - and there's really very little way for the legislative branch to chip away at patently awful leaders.

On the other hand, the DFL-controlled Minnesota Senate blocked Lt. Gov. Molnau's confirmation as Transportation Commissioner. So you've got a bit more chutzpah around these parts.

Responding to a question regarding his weekend schedule in the US later in the day, [Turkish Foreign Minister] Babacan revealed that he would be attending an international conference of people of influence in the fields of business, media and politics, known as the Bilderberg conference.

The unofficial invitation-only conference will take place from June 5 to June 8 at the Westfields Marriott Hotel in Chantilly, Virginia, this year. Last year, it was hosted at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in İstanbul. "We hosted this conference in İstanbul last year," Babacan said, without mentioning its name. He also said this is the fifth time he has been invited to the elite gathering.

Bilderberg Announces 2008 Conference
Thursday June 5, 8:10 pm ET

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 56th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Chantilly, Virginia, USA 5 8 June 2008. The Conference will deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia, finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend, of whom about two-thirds come from Europe and the balance from North America. About one-third is from government and politics, and two-thirds are from finance, industry, labor, education and communications. The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion.

Bilderberg takes its name from the hotel in Holland, where the first meeting took place in May 1954. That pioneering meeting grew out of the concern expressed by leading citizens on both sides of the Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working together as closely as they should on common problems of critical importance. It was felt that regular, off-the-record discussions would help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period. The Cold War has now ended. But in practically all respects, there are more, not fewer, common problems - from trade to jobs, from monetary policy to investment, from ecological challenges to the task of promoting international security. It is hard to think of any major issue in either Europe or North America whose unilateral solution would not have repercussions for the other. Thus the concept of a European-American forum has not been overtaken by time. The dialogue between these two regions is still - even increasingly - critical.

What is unique about Bilderberg as a forum, is the broad cross-section of leading citizens that are assembled for nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy; the strong feeling among participants that in view of the differing attitudes and experiences of the Western nations, there remains a clear need to further develop an understanding in which these concerns can be accommodated; the privacy of the meetings, which has no purpose other than to allow participants to speak their minds openly and freely. In short, Bilderberg is a small, flexible, informal and off-the-record international forum in which different viewpoints can be expressed and mutual understanding enhanced.

Bilderberg's only activity is its annual Conference. At the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued. Since 1954, fifty-five conferences have been held. The names of the participants are made available to the press. Participants are chosen for their experience, their knowledge, and their standing; all participants attend Bilderberg in a private and not an official capacity.

There will be no press conference. A list of participants is available by phone request at 703-818-3647 between 9am-5pm EDT June 6-7, 2008.

Barack Obama ditches his press corps to go hang out!! Behind the Scenes: Obama press 'hijacked' during Clinton meeting - CNN.com

The press soon noticed there were far too few people aboard for a standard campaign flight. Something was different. It's fair to say that the term "everyone" was used a bit loosely -- especially when the presumptive nominee appeared to be missing.

As the plane taxied, communications director Robert Gibbs admitted that Obama was remaining behind because he "wasn't going to be back in D.C. for a while" and had "scheduled some meetings" before he left.

Obama staffers, including Gibbs and Linda Douglass, a newly appointed senior adviser and campaign spokeswoman, didn't ask the reporters on board if they'd prefer to wait on the runway in Washington until the meetings concluded. They were going to Chicago. Without Barack Obama.....

Once airborne, a timid and slightly giggly Gibbs granted the confused and agitated press corps a meeting, one that any eyewitness would have easily labeled contentious and heated. Video Watch the riled press corps grill Gibbs »

Gibbs took on a barrage of questions, and, to his credit, listened to what he called the "anticipated grievances" from the press for almost 20 minutes.

"He's having a secret meeting tonight, and we're not going to see him until Monday" because of three scheduled "down days," one reporter began. "I'd like to say that's unacceptable. He's the -- "

"Presumptive Democratic nominee?" Gibbs finished, adding a giggle. "Yeah."

Questions centered largely on why the press was essentially held hostage with no candidate and no choice but to fly to Chicago on a chartered plane -- a flight many news organizations pay thousands of dollars to keep their journalists stationed on, ideally with the candidate.

"We're not paying however much this plane is to be here -- no offense -- with you," one reporter said to Gibbs as the largely newsless news conference wrapped up.

When pressed, Gibbs admitted he was responsible for how the situation was handled.

"It wasn't an attempt to deceive in any way," he said. "It was just private meetings."

Here's some quality satire: Bilderberg Group orders end to Obama-Clinton contest « Sir Satire’s New World Order News Service

The two presidential hopefuls were summoned to the Bilderberg Group annual meeting, where they were both informed that Obama would play the part of the Democratic candidate this election year. Clinton is reported to have begged Lord Rothschild and David Rockefeller — both senior level Bilderbergers — for forgiveness following her poor campaign performance this past year.

“Mrs. Clinton was very upset,” said a male prostitute who services some of the male Bilderberg members. “She said David Rockefeller was behind the push to oust her from the race. She had apparently been promised a comeback effort by Lord Rothschild like the kind that was granted to her husband Bill Clinton in the early 1990s, when it looked like he was going to be out of the presidential race.”

WE ARE ALL MADE OF RETROVIRUSES: Your proteins came from pre-HIV germ line infestations, fragmenting. So re-synth the bugs, say eggheads! Reptilians? Why not?!

"Disabled retroviruses-fossils of molecular battles that raged for generations-make up eight per cent of the human genome." --New Yorker

In the category of awesome stuff, consider how retroviruses have apparently spent billions of years INFESTING YOUR DNA and indeed THE PLACENTA itself descended from VIRUSES. X-Files Black Oil is already here, people!!

How great is that? Feeling weird? It's not Scientology's "Thetans", instead it is the fragmented DNA of thousands of retroviruses that infected someone's sex organs during the last 5,000,000 years. And also these fragments effectively stuff up the actions of many new viruses: this is why chimps don't get sick from human HIV. Some insane old paleovirus (yes paleovirology) actually blocks the HIV from hurting the chimps from within the natural chimp DNA. It integrated to the chimp after they diverged from humans!

All these ancient diseases integrated with humans at such a slow rate, you can pick out the branching points of species' evolutionary chains by the sets of virus fragments their DNA picked up, cruising out the evolutionary tree.

PS who wants a flu vaccine now?

This seems to resemble the upcoming Will Smith flick "I Am Legend" perhaps?

Darwin’s Surprise Why are evolutionary biologists bringing back extinct deadly viruses?

by Michael Specter December 3, 2007

Disabled retroviruses-fossils of molecular battles that raged for generations-make up eight per cent of the human genome.

Thierry Heidmann’s office, adjacent to the laboratory he runs at the Institut Gustave Roussy, on the southern edge of Paris, could pass for a museum of genetic catastrophe. Files devoted to the world’s most horrifying infectious diseases fill the cabinets and line the shelves. There are thick folders for smallpox, Ebola virus, and various forms of influenza. SARS is accounted for, as are more obscure pathogens, such as feline leukemia virus, Mason-Pfizer monkey virus, and simian foamy virus, which is endemic in African apes. H.I.V., the best-known and most insidious of the viruses at work today, has its own shelf of files. The lab’s beakers, vials, and refrigerators, secured behind locked doors with double-paned windows, all teem with viruses. Heidmann, a meaty, middle-aged man with wild eyebrows and a beard heavily flecked with gray, has devoted his career to learning what viruses might tell us about AIDS and various forms of cancer. “This knowledge will help us treat terrible diseases,” he told me, nodding briefly toward his lab. “Viruses can provide answers to questions we have never even asked.”

When the sequence of the human genome was fully mapped, in 2003, researchers also discovered something they had not anticipated: our bodies are littered with the shards of such retroviruses, fragments of the chemical code from which all genetic material is made. It takes less than two per cent of our genome to create all the proteins necessary for us to live. Eight per cent, however, is composed of broken and disabled retroviruses, which, millions of years ago, managed to embed themselves in the DNA of our ancestors. They are called endogenous retroviruses, because once they infect the DNA of a species they become part of that species. One by one, though, after molecular battles that raged for thousands of generations, they have been defeated by evolution. Like dinosaur bones, these viral fragments are fossils. Instead of having been buried in sand, they reside within each of us, carrying a record that goes back millions of years. Because they no longer seem to serve a purpose or cause harm, these remnants have often been referred to as “junk DNA.” Many still manage to generate proteins, but scientists have never found one that functions properly in humans or that could make us sick.

Then, last year, Thierry Heidmann brought one back to life. Combining the tools of genomics, virology, and evolutionary biology, he and his colleagues took a virus that had been extinct for hundreds of thousands of years, figured out how the broken parts were originally aligned, and then pieced them together. After resurrecting the virus, the team placed it in human cells and found that their creation did indeed insert itself into the DNA of those cells. They also mixed the virus with cells taken from hamsters and cats. It quickly infected them all, offering the first evidence that the broken parts could once again be made infectious. The experiment could provide vital clues about how viruses like H.I.V. work. Inevitably, though, it also conjures images of Frankenstein’s monster and Jurassic Park.

“If you think about this for five minutes, it is wild stuff,” John Coffin told me when I visited him in his laboratory at Tufts University, where he is the American Cancer Society Research Professor. Coffin is one of the country’s most distinguished molecular biologists, and was one of the first to explore the role of endogenous retroviruses in human evolution. “I understand that the idea of bringing something dead back to life is fundamentally frightening,” he went on. “It’s a power that science has come to possess and it makes us queasy, and it should. But there are many viruses that are more dangerous than these—more infectious, far riskier to work with, and less potentially useful.’’

This explains pretty much every insane thing I've ever heard. "It wasn't me mom, it was ancient viruses inside me that sprang back to life!!!"

They are like ancient Linux patches that fix you up so you don't get the latest expl0it virus. Literally.

If that is how life really works, then frankly people we have to consider the idea that some of the dumbest conspiracy theories ever. Because the evil Iluminati are actually Different Viruses. Everyone's favorite crazed internet conspiracy theory: "The Elite are Shape Shifting Reptilians from Shangri La or whatever!" takes on a whole different spin. See Wikipedia:

Wikipedia, thanks: Reptilian humanoids are a common motif in mythology, folklore, science fiction, ufology, and the conspiracy theories of John Rhodes, David Icke, and Riley Martin. They are variously said to be extraterrestrials, supernatural entities, or the remains of a pre-Human civilization, and are known by many names, including Reptoids, dinosauroids, lizardfolk or lizardmen.

Alright now google is leading me in weird places: Reptilians and 2012.

Alex Jones Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement: Actually, pretty good!

"Countless people will hate the New World Order and will die protesting against it."
--HG Wells - "The New World Order" (1939). This quote opens the flick.

The rich are going to kill everyone, then try to merge with technology and live forever!!!1!!! w0000

Get ready for the Internet Paranoia Movie of the Season, everyone! Texas loud guy Alex Jones has just released Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement! And it's free to copy on the Internet: Get the Word out against the New World Order!! etc!!!

Basically, it goes through history, looking at various evil empires that dominated and killed the masses all along the way. Combine eugenics, false-flag terror, war financing, and the big NWO scheme, confronted by a loud Texas guy with a bullhorn. Result: Pretty good stuff!

There are some fun guerilla video adventures: Jones turns up at the mysterious Bilderberg Group meeting in Ottowa, wherein the Evil Schemers plot their stuff. Jim Tucker, crusading Bilderberg watcher in cowboy hat, knows the ways around their devious schemes. They catch numerous officials, including George Pataki (of the Patakilluminati) violating the Logan Act by meeting in secret with foreign politicians. (someday we gotta nail the neocons with Logan. More later on that).

A major element is how the Global New World Order Microsoft McDonalds Dictatorship will create regional super-governments. First the European Union. Makes the point that the African Union is really the gendarme force of the NWO in Africa. The Asian Union and North American Union are examined. Secret plans for the SPP - Security and Prosperity Partnership - are revealed for all. Secret summits plotting the merging of military and trade, so that more goods may flood into the USA via Mexico from Asia.

Crusty old Texans bitch about how they're going to kill the New World Order and its Trans Texas Corridor schemes first of all. RFID tags will be installed on your car to tax you for the global empire - just like the Romans!

Modern China is the test case for the New World Order, the laboratory if you will. Organ harvesting of prisoners and other total Capitalism police state elements are examined in jarring detail (as is David Rockefeller's enthusiasm for Mao).

Technological sophistication and the secret history of eugenics are examined with great care. An Aldous Huxley clip where he talks about how the "Brave New World" plan was basically real, combined with an ugly Texas bureaucrat explaining how the foster kids need to be pumped full of drugs because they come from a bad gene pool. Excellent work! Margaret Sanger's eugenics schemes financed by the Rockefellers - that's really the nut of it. Points out that the big environmental groups are purchasing all the land, perhaps intending to depopulate rural America, but don't give a damn about genetic engineering.

Lastly, probably my favorite element (besides the choice quotes from Kissinger et al about Total Depopulation of the Third World) was how trans-humanist New Age hippiedom with the synthetic cyborg stuff fits into the Big Plan. The rich are going to kill 80% of everyone, then try to merge with technology and live forever!

Carbon trading is just there to kill the middle class and finance the elite schemes. Police forces and the military are recruiting foreigners to repress the domestic population. Etc!

Well that's about it. I have to say, I was impressed. The visual trimmings are the most sophisticated Jones has released. He doesn't ever bother to even say that 9/11 was staged by the Secret Government, which of course has been his bread and butter for a while. Instead, Jones takes a step back, and his core point is that "Governments are more likely to kill people than anyone else. The elite always do this shit!" Fair enough, sir.

I have been worrying about Rationalized Annihilation for quite a while. Living in these times of war, extreme annihilationist ideologies are very chic. Look at TV for a bit, or listen to the corporate talk radio. People that make a lot of money are telling you to kill, and everyone else to kill.

Say what you will about Alex Jones: he is definitely against the perpetual war agenda, and it takes a guy like him to run around and yell at "those guys", the rich and shady cats that have been fucking everything up.

Better yet: It's free! Legally!

Take a look at your typical BitTorrent sites for downloadable/DVD burnable versions. Also posted on Google Video, but it's too chunky on parts with text. Here is the promo copy:

For the New World Order, a world government is just the beginning. Once in place they can engage their plan to exterminate 80% of the world's population, while enabling the "elites" to live forever with the aid of advanced technology. For the first time, crusading filmmaker ALEX JONES reveals their secret plan for humanity's extermination: Operation ENDGAME.

Jones chronicles the history of the global elite's bloody rise to power and reveals how they have funded dictators and financed the bloodiest wars—creating order out of chaos to pave the way for the first true world empire.

* Watch as Jones and his team track the elusive Bilderberg Group to Ottawa and Istanbul to document their secret summits, allowing you to witness global kingpins setting the world's agenda and instigating World War III.

* Learn about the formation of the North America transportation control grid, which will end U.S. sovereignty forever.

* Discover how the practitioners of the pseudo-science eugenics have taken control of governments worldwide as a means to carry out depopulation.

* View the progress of the coming collapse of the United States and the formation of the North American Union

Here it is on Google Video: it's two hours long though, I would make a new window and so forth, or find a sharper download somewhere:

All right Alex, way to fuck up the program. Go have a margarita or something, just relax a bit before you get an embolism, dude!
